Power System Overview (PSO1), In this module, you will get a basic introduction to the Indian Grid, you will get an overview of the Power System in India, learn about Very Large System Operators of the world, Independent Operation of Load Despatch Centres (LDCs) and learn how different elements of the power sector work together in cohesion, India's interconnections with neighbouring grids, HVDC and International Connectivity, Prevailing practices and Future road map of Grid Operations.

Power System Fundamentals (PSO2), In this Module you will learn about the Basics of electricity, basic laws impact of resistance and impedance of power flow, configurations and cost-benefit analysis, DC vs AC, you will learn about the 3-phase systems, basic structure of Power System, basic concepts of System Operation and be introduced to the concept of power markets in India.

Load-Generation Balance (PSO3), In this module you will learn about the Importance of demand forecasting, IEGC provisions, typical demand curve and its daily and seasonal variations, load duration curve, categorization of load, difficulty of supplying remote loads and suggested solutions, importance of controlling frequency and voltage within allowable limits, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Frequency Control, Automatic Generation Control (AGC).

Power System Elements (PSO4), In this module, you will learn about Generator and Motor and working and application of Pumped Hydro, working and modelling of Three phase transformers, modelling of Transmission Lines, Basics of High Voltage DC (HVD)C and Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) devices, Reactive power and voltage, different types and characteristics of Renewable Energy (RE) models, Reactive capability and challenges.

Power System Economic Despatch (PSO5) In this module, you will learn about the Operational characteristics of coal fired, hydro, pumped storage, nuclear and gas based power plants, base load, peaking and must-run stations, merit order dispatch, frequency linked dispatch guidelines, importance of flexibility in thermal generation, actions taken in India so far, Purpose of ancillary services, salient features of existing ancillary service mechanism in India as per CERC regulations, Network Constraints - concept of (n-1) security, TTC (Total Transfer Capability), ATC (Available Transfer Capability) & Reliability Margin (RM), network congestion in real time and overcoming it through ancillary dispatch and concept of Security Constrained Economic Despatch (SCED).

Reliability and Resilience (PSO6)- In this module, you will learn about Preventive, Emergency and Restorative Controls, different Layers of protection in Power System, Contingency Analysis, Normal and Alert state, Emergency Control, concept of Blackout and Islanding, Importance of power system protection, types of faults, Relay and Protective Devices (elementary qualitative treatment), Special Protection Schemes, concept of Power System Restoration and you will understand the dynamic process of network planning.

Renewable Energy Integration (PSO7)- In this module, you will get an overview of Renewable Energy in India, learn about the challenges faced in Grid Operation especially with high penetration of RE resources, you will learn about operation of Renewable Energy Management Centres in India, Forecasting tools and techniques for Renewable Energy and usage of mixed sources for mitigation of challenges.

Power System Monitoring (PSO8) – In this module, you will learn about the Fundamentals, Challenges and emerging technologies for Situational Awareness, you will be Introduced to Energy Management and Simulator, Importance of visualization and situational awareness in control centers, Grid Security Monitoring - Displays and Alerts, Technology Involved in Power System Monitoring, Phasor concept, data resolution and overview of PMU (phasor Measurement unit) tools and DSA (Dynamic Security Assessment), IT systems, web enabled services aiding real time operation.

Power System Scenario Analysis (PSO9)-In this module, you will learn about the different types of Power system scenarios and their analysis, Power flow equations and mathematical analysis through coding, you will also learn about the modelling of the regional and inter-regional power system, and how different scenarios in the grid are studied.

Power System Stability (PSO10)- In this module, you will learn about the Steady-State Stability, Voltage stability, Oscillations etc., Angular & Transient Stability Problems and Advances in assessing stability.

Electricity Act 2003 & Load Despatch Centres Framework and role of System Operators (MO1) - In this module you will learn about Institutional Framework, Federal & Decentralized Governance and Constitution of Load Despatch centres NLDC/RLDC/SLDC therein, Role of NLDCs/RLDC as enshrined in the Act/Grid Code, exclusive functions of RLDCs identified by Grid Code and gravity of compliance of RLDC instructions and the jurisdiction of RLDCs.

Fundamentals of Electricity Market Design in India (MO2)- In this module you will learn about Fundamentals of Electricity Markets Design, 4 pillars of Market Design - Scheduling, Imbalance, Congestion and Ancillary Services, provisions related to competition & development of electricity markets in India, concept of unbundling & introduction of competition through deregulation, electricity contracts & access in different time frames (short, medium & long term).

Grid Access & Integration of new entities (MO3)- In this module you will learn about concept of Grid Access & RLDC Users, process of User Registration with RLDC, coordination activities involved in First time charging, Procedure for Integration of Conventional Generators with the Grid and Procedure for Integration of Renewable Generators with the Grid.

Open Access & Power Market Regulations (MO4)- In this module you will learn about various types of transmission access, various short term products in Indian Power Market, Power Exchange activities & various time lines, various charges involved in each Short-Term Open Access (STOA) transaction, disbursement procedure and cycle and functioning of National Open Access Registry (NOAR).

Scheduling Process and Deviation Settlement Mechanism (MO5)- In this module you will learn about Components of Availability Based Tariff(ABT), reasons of deviation and methods of settlement, CERC’s Deviation Settlement Mechanism (DSM), Rationale behind linking Deviation charge to Market Price, Area Clearing Price (ACP), Deviation Charge components and Calculations and Deviation charges for Regional Entity Wind & Solar Generators.

Congestion Management (MO7)- In this module you will learn about Definition of Congestion & concepts of TTC (Total Transfer Capability), ATC (Available Transfer Capability) & Transmission Reliability margin (TRM), Congestion handling in Bilateral Advance Applications (E-bidding), Congestion handling in Day ahead Collective transactions, Declaration of Congestion in real time (Congestion Warning), Application of Congestion charge in Real time and Congestion charge accounting & settlement.

Ancillary Services & Automatic Generation Control (AGC) (MO8)- In this module you will learn about Need of Ancillary Services & basics of Reserve Regulation ancillary Services (RRAS) in India, Scheduling process under RRAS, Accounting & Settlement of RRAS transactions, Fundamentals of Automatic Generation Control (AGC) and its Implementation in India.

Financial autonomy of Load Despatch Centres (MO12)- In this module, you will learn about Key provisions of Fees & Charges Application, Approval & Mid Term Review, components of RLDC Charges, User Registration & monthly billing, rebate & surcharge, concept of sharing of NLDC charges, concept of LDC Development Fund, Performance linked Incentive (PLI) & Certificate Retainership.

Renewable Energy Registry of India, Issuance and Trade of Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) (MO13)- In this module, you will learn about concept and rationale of REC Mechanism, Regulations in this regard, role of NLDC as Central Agency, process steps involved in REC mechanism, statistics of REC mechanism.

Perform Achieve Trade (PAT) scheme and Energy Saving Certificates (ESCerts) (MO14)- In this module, you will learn about concept of Perform Achieve Trade scheme, Detailed explanation of the scenarios for the Designated Consumers which are eligible for ESCerts issuance, Obligated to Purchase, Salient Features of Perform Achieve Trade scheme through the regulatory reference and Roles and Responsibilities of Registry.

You will also learn about process of facilitating implementation of new regulations/orders, process of ensuring compliance through monitoring & feedback and process of handling various petitions/litigations.
